French Waterskiers Steal Limelight

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- The qualifying round of the Putrajaya Waterski Championship 2009 was dominated by French waterskiers who will enter the final on Sunday.

Held at the Putrajaya Water Sport Complex in Precint 6 today, the championship saw Anais Amade, Marion Aynaud and Marion Mathieu top the women's slalom, shortboard and jump diciplines, respectively.

In the men's category, Nicolas Parsons of the United States clinched the top position in the men's slalom category.

Due to lightning and heavy rain later in the evening, the men's shortboard and jump was postponed and would be resumed tomorrow morning.

The finals will witness only the top four women's qualifiers and six men's qualifiers will compete to determine Putrajaya's champions.
